Kenneth H. Doppel of Calverton died Sunday, August 7, 2016 in Southside Hospital. He was 62 years old.
He was born in on March 3, 1954 in Jamaica to Howard Doppel and Arline Weiss.
He majored in psychology and political science at Old Westbury College and held a Bachelor of Science degree. He was a program coordinator for East End Disability Associates and had worked at many schools for disabled adults.
He had a love for music and played in a rock-and-roll band for most of his life. He will be missed by his friends and bandmates who know he left them too soon.
He is survived by his parents Howard and Arline Doppel, his sister and brother-in-law Irene and Thomas Winter and two nieces Maureen Bennett and Elizabeth Winter.
The family will receive visitors Friday, August 12 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. on August 12 at the funeral home with Rev. Charles Byer of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church officiating.
