A car crashed into a building on Main Road in Southold yesterday, according to police.

Police said Margaret Hallden, 85, of Baldwin, was attempting to park her 2014 Subaru Forester outside the Country Corner Café in Southold yesterday at about 5 p.m. But “when attempting to stop Hallden failed to hit the brake,” police said in a press release issued late last night.

Hallen’s car struck a porch support beam and the southwest corner of the building, police said.

There were no injuries, and all patrons inside were unharmed, according to the report. Souhtold Town Building Inspector responded and found the building to be safe, police said.
