Josephine M. Conklin of Riverhead died Feb. 24, 2017 at the Kanas Center for Hospice Care in Quiogue. She was 92 years old.
She was born Feb. 25, 1924 in Greenport to Donato and Anna Mazzaferro.
She graduated from Greenport High School in 1942 and married Herbert Conklin the same year.
She was a group chief operator for 38 years for New York Telephone. In her spare time, she liked to read, do crafts and she enjoyed working at PBMC’s gift shop. She was a member of the Pioneers and the PBMC Ladies Auxiliary.
Predeceased by her husband Herbert in 2012 and her grandson Mark Conklin in 2012, she is survived by her sons Keith (Arlene) of Pennsylvania and Mark (Laurie) of Riverhead, her brothers George and Jimmy Mazzaferro, and three grandchildren Jamie of Riverhead, Jennifer (Andrew) of Washington, D.C. and Scott of Pennsylvania.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, Feb. 27 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Feb. 27.
