The second annual Out Run Rett 5K in New Suffolk drew large crowds this morning, many of them children and teens. The race was held to support research on Rett Syndrome, a neurological disorder that strikes mostly young girls.

Several local children held a bake sale and a bracelet/key chain sale to help raise money. See previous story.

Shawn Fitzgerald of Cutchogue came in first with a time of 18:30. Suzy Heffernan of Cutchogue was the first female over the finish line with a time of 20:38.
