The Stony Brook Vein Center at Stony Brook Medicine has just been granted full accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).
“Our Vein Center is among only 12 in the United States and the two in New York State to obtain IAC accreditation,” says Antonios P. Gasparis, MD, professor of surgery, Vascular Surgery Division, and director of The Stony Brook Vein Center at Stony Brook Medicine.
The IAC accreditation is a trusted “seal of approval” in healthcare, and demonstrates the Stony Brook Vein Center’s commitment to providing quality vein care to patients. The Commission provides accreditation programs for vascular testing, vein treatment and management as well as echocardiography, nuclear/PET, MRI, diagnostic CT, dental CT, carotid stenting. The IAC programs for accreditation are dedicated to ensuring quality patient care and promoting healthcare.
The Vein Center specializes in providing the most sophisticated diagnosis and treatment — both surgical and non-surgical — for superficial venous disorders, including varicose and spider veins of the leg, among other vein-related conditions.

The Stony Brook Vein Center has multiple locations on Long Island with the main office in East Setauket and branch offices in Smithtown, Sayville and Huntington. The Vein Center offers free screenings on a monthly basis.
