A little bit of Hollywood paid a visit to Cutchogue Tuesday night, as actress Julia Macchio — daughter of “The Karate Kid” star Ralph Macchio — brought her talents to JABS.
Macchio turned out to teach a Broadway Jazz dance class as part of JABS’ “Work It Productions” dance program.
Jill Schroeder, owner of JABS, said cast members from the North Fork Community Theatre’s Youth on Stage production of “The Wedding Singer attended the session. “Everyone there had a great time, even Julia herself, and she can’t wait to return to JABS,” she said.
“Such a fun masterclass with Julia at JABS!” student Marissa Russo said. “Great night of dancing with my ‘Wedding Singer’ co-stars.”
Schroeder added that the “Work It Productions” dance program has been a success this summer, “enabling all abilities to learn Hip Hop, Contemporary, with Lisa Malone, and Broadway Jazz , with Julia Macchio. We have two more weeks left of the program before it returns again in the fall.”
