For all of the North Fork’s bounty and array of beautiful dining options, one thing that’s been scant is the opportunity to have food delivered steaming hot to homes and businesses, with few restaurants offering delivery service.
But all that’s about to change: On Monday, Lucharitos, located on Main Street in Greenport, will begin delivering from Southold to Orient, Monday through Friday, from 3 to 10 p.,m, with a $25 min order. For a look at the online menu, click here
Lucharitos owner Marc LaMaina said the idea was a no brainer. “Delivery and tacos should be synonymous,” he said. “In college we lived off it. And when I did my stint in New York City, I definitely wasn’t a stranger to delivery. So why not here in Greenport? Our locals are here all year and sometimes it’s just hard to leave the house to grab dinner. I think we are popular enough now where this may work. And if it doesn’t, at least we can say we tried.”
He added that Lucharitos is ever-evolving. “That’s the greatest thing about being a small business, the ability to change direction and tweak ideas and concepts on the fly. Keep what works, trim what doesn’t. But I think delivery is an obvious option to have.”
