A Greenport man was cuffed on Saturday after driving drunk and getting into an accident in Mattituck, police said.
Acorrding to Southold Town police, Kurt Schmalz, 44, was arrested at 8:26 p.m. at the corner of Route 25 and Factory Avenue after he was involved in a motor vehicle accident. Police said investigation found him to be intoxicated. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, a felony, and held at Southold Town police headquarters until arraignment.
