San Simeon by the Sound Center for Nursing, Rehabilitation and Adult Day Health Care Inc., Greenport, NY, is proud to announce that Violet Reed, a valued member of the Housekeeping team, has been named Employee of the Month for December.
Violet was born outside Chicago, IL and moved to the North Fork when she was 3 years old and ever since her arrival, she loved to explore new places. So it’s no surprise that, as an avid sports fan, Violet follows her five sporty grandchildren as they play basketball, volleyball, soccer and field hockey around the North East.
In her 30 years of dedicated service to San Simeon, Violet rotated around the facility. She worked as a CNA where she enjoyed being a part of Resident’s daily lives and currently works in laundry as part of the Housekeeping team. “While I liked helping Resident’s when I was a CNA,” Violet shares, “I mostly enjoy the peacefulness of working in the laundry now. I am still helping the Residents,” she says, “but now it’s from behind the scenes – and I get to spend more time with them.”
In her spare time, Violet enjoys playing cards with her friends and loves to travel, but mostly she enjoys cooking and spending time with her family.
