Keeping alive a beloved holiday tradition, Southold students set off along Main Road on Thursday, decorating the trees of local businesses and at spots around town.
The littlest kindergartners made a stop at Robert’s Jeweler’s, where owner Bob Scott admired the children’s handmade ornaments and even placed a few on the tree himself.
Scott said the tree trimming is an annual event and one both he and his customers look forward to. “I’m going to light this tree tonight, just for you,” he told the kids, who held hands as they headed back to their two classrooms with their teachers.
