A Mattituck man was cuffed early Sunday morning after he was caught driving drunk, police said.
According to Southold Town police, Michael A. Kline, 24, was arrested at 1:57 a.m. on Route 25 and Elijah’s Lane and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.
Police said Kline was observed heading eastbound on Route 25 in the area of Cardinal Drive and failing to maintain his lane of travel, crossing over the solid white line into the shoulder of the roadway. Kline was stopped and while being interviewed was observed to have bloodshot and glassy eyes, slurred speech, and the smell of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, police said.
It was determined the Kline was intoxicated and he placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters for processing, and held for arraignment, police said.
