Irene Kubiak of Aquebogue, formerly of Mattituck, died on December 24, 2014 at Peconic Bay Skilled Nursing Facility. She was 91 years old.
Born on April 27, 1923 in Paterson, New Jersey, she was the daughter of John and Phyllis Dybacka. She worked as an administrative assistant for Passaic County Water Authority. She enjoyed boating, singing in the choir at Sacred Heart Parish and socializing at the Riverhead Senior Center.
She was predeceased by her husband Anthony in 2004. She is survived by her son, Dr. Richard Kubiak of Jamesport and daughter-in-law Susan; daughter Carol Kubiak of Cutchogue and son-in-law Dr. Anthony Mitarotondo; daughter Joan Cardinale of Aquebogue and son-in-law John; grandchildren David Kubiak, Stephanie Kubiak, Lauren Mullen, Julia Mitarotondo, Nicole Murray, Christy Gilardi and James Cardinale and great-grandchildren Lena and Lucas Gilardi, McKayla Murray and Justin, Jake and Kyle Cardinale.
The family received visitors on Saturday, Dec. 27 at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A service was held during visitation with Deacon Jeff Sykes presiding. Interment followed Dec. 31 at Calverton National Cemetery.
