SUNY Cobleskill announces Women’s Volleyball commitment of Mattituck High School standout

The SUNY Cobleskill Department of Sports & Exercise announced today that Mattituck High School women’s volleyball standout middle/outside hitter Emilie Reimer, Mattituck, N.Y. has committed to the Fighting Tigers as part of the 2015 recruiting class.

“Emilie is going to be a great addition to our program. We were looking for someone with multiple skill-sets and she is a player who can operate at either the middle hitter or outside hitter position for us,” said Fighting Tigers Head Coach Scott Hill. “What Emilie can do is finish off points which is an area that we need to improve in next season.”

This past season Reimer helped lead the Lady Tuckers to their second consecutive Suffolk County Class C and Long Island Region Class C Championships on the way to the program’s second consecutive New York State High School Athletic Association (NYSHSAA) Class C Championship Tournament appearance.

During her prep career the three-year varsity starter was named to the NYSHSAA Class C All- State Team and Class C All-State Tournament Team in 2013 and 2014 while earning All-Long Island Region Second Team honors in 2014 and All-League Team and All-Suffolk County Team honors in 2013 and 2014.

The State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill is an accredited polytechnic college that is primarily baccalaureate and residential. The College has an enrollment of 2,400 students in 50 programs in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Business. An economic engine for rural New York, SUNY Cobleskill is home to a wide array of extended learning and professional development opportunities.
