Hundreds turned out Saturday night for the Southold Fire Department’s semi-annual Steak Night, held at the firehouse on Main Road.
Scores of supporters lined up as volunteer firefighters dished up a delectable menu including marinated shell steak grilled outdoors, rolls, salad, baked potatoes, vegetables, dessert, wine and beer.
Honored at Saturday’s event were the four Riverhead Fire Department heroes who rescued a man from a burning building recently. J.R. Renten and fellow search-team firefighters, Steve Beal, Kevin Burgess and Tony Chiaramonte were invited to the dinner by the Southold Fire Department, where they were recognized by their peers for their bravery.
