Joseph A. Mocniak of Calverton died on February 9, 2015 at North Shore University Hospital after a long illness. He was 77 years old.
He was born on March 3, 1937 in Greensboro, P.a. to August Mocniak and Blanche Tokarsky.
Mocniak worked as the vice president of Citi Bank in NYC, after serving in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962. He was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus and was an usher at St. Isidore’s Church. In his free time he enjoyed reading.
Survived by his wife, Ursula, of Calverton; his children, Joseph Jr. of Massapequa, Christian of Holbrook and Uta Field of South Setauket. He also leaves behind six grandchildren to remember him.
The family will receive visitors at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home on Thursday, February 12 from 2 to 4 and 7 to p.m. A service will be held on Friday, February 13 at St. Isidore’s Church. Interment will be at Calverton National Cemetery.
