Cops: Man busted for DWI, pot on the front seat in Southold

An East Northport man was cuffed early Sunday after he was found to be driving while intoxicated with marijuana on the front seat of his car in Southold, police said.

According to Southold Town police, Paul R. Faglione, 23, was arrested at 12:59 a.m. on Jasmine Lane after he was seen heading west on Route 25 and Horton’s Lane, with no headlights and traveling “at a speed not reasonable and prudent for the ice/slush road conditions,” police said.

Upon investigation, police said Faglione “had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, slurred speech, blood-shot glassy eyes and was unsteady on his feet”. Further investigation uncovered marijuana in plain view on the driver’s seat, police said.

Faglione was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, police said.

He was held overnight for morning arraignment.
