Southold firefighters headed out in the snow tonight to knock down a small house fire in a residence on Carroll Avenue.
According to firefighter, the small fire, which was reported at approximately 7 p.m., was extinguished quickly; it was not immediately clear if anyone was home in the Peconic residence or if anyone was injured.
Cutchogue and Greenport Fire Departments also responded to the scene.
