An Orient man was busted for speeding while under the influence of drugs and in possession of heroin, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, Robert Fisher, 26 was arrested on April 15 at 8:52 p.m. on County Road 48 in Cutchogue after he was stopped for speeding.
Police said Fisher was “found to have bloodshot, glassy eyes, slurred speech” and was “unsteady on his feet.”
He was found to be in possession of heroin, marijuana, and hypodermic needles, police said.
Fisher was arrested and charged with DWI drugs, a misdemeanor, criminal possession of a synthetic narcotic, possession of marijuana and speeding, police said.
He was held at Southold Town police headquarters awaiting arraignment, police said..
