Brides planning their big day could soon have a place to sample delectable menu suggestions offered by Grace & Grit caterers.
Owners Stephanie Pincar-Coleman and Jennilee Morris have submitted a site plan application to the Southold Town planning board for the proposed conversion of an existing 1,021 square foot retail store, located on Route 25 northeast of Hobart Road in Southold, to a six seat restaurant with three parking space on 0.13 acres in the hamlet business zoning district.
The plan, they said, is to create a commissary kitchen for their catering business, with a tasting area up front. The goal would be to hold scheduled tastings, as well as wedding showcases, featuring their New American cuisine and locally sourced produce and seafood.
The planning board reviewed the application for the site, located between Mullen Motors and the Grateful Deli. The existing sanitary system would be abandoned and a new one created; an existing broken asphalt driveway would be removed, with a driveway paved and one handicapped parking stall created.
Interior renovations are planned, with no exterior lighting or signage proposed; no footprint expansion is on the table.
A public hearing was set for July 6.
