The clock is ticking for Tall Ships 2015 festival in Greenport — and tickets are now available for the Captain’s Reception, to be held on July 3 at Peconic Landing’s Brecknock Hall.

The Captain’s Reception is the kick-off event leading to the four-day Greenport Tall Ships Festival held in the village from July 4 to 7.  Tickets for the Captain’s Reception are $30 per person and include a one-day pass to the Tall Ships Festival, a $15 value.

The event takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. and the ticket price includes beer, wine and hors d’oevres.

“We are proud to host the Captain’s Reception, which serves as the kick-off of this exciting four-day festival,” said Robert J. Syron, President and CEO of Peconic Landing, one of the sponsors of the Greenport Tall Ships Festival. “It is a great opportunity to meet with ship captains and hear their incredible stories about living on the sea.”

The Greenport Tall Ships Festival will feature six ships, with the highlight centering on the arrival of France’s L’Hermione, a recreation of a sailing vessel making a symbolic journey across the Atlantic to commemorate General LaFayette’s voyage in 1780 — celebrating the strong ties between the United States and France. Joining the L’Hermione will be the Picton Castle, Sagres, Lynx, AJ Meerwald and Kalmar Nyckel.
