Cops: Two Greenport men charged with rape in the first degree

Two Greenport men were arrested early this morning and charged with forcible rape in the first degree, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, Jahvan Leeroy Martin, 20, and Tiquan Williams, 21, were arrested after an incident that allegedly took place Monday at 1 a.m. on West Street in Greenport and charged with rape in the first degree, a felony. They were both also charged with one count of possession of marijuana, a violation, police said.
Following an investigation of allegations of forcible rape, Southold police said they executed a search warrant on West Street. Both men are being held at Southold Town police headquarters awaiting arraignment in Southold Justice Court, police said. No further information was immediately available about the incident.
