Three were injured in a Sound Avenue crash in Mattituck on Saturday, police said.
According to Southold Town police, Joyce Tancredi, 68, of Huntington, was heading west on Sound Avenue in a 2014 Honda when an uninvolved vehicle made an abrupt turn onto Farmveu Road. Tancredi slowed down and was rear-ended by Andre Vega, 20, of Mattituck who was also driving west in a 2012 Hyundai.
Tancredi’s passengers, Leslie Zurick, 47, and a 17-year-old, both from Mooresville, North Carolina, were both injured, as was Vega’s passenger, Anastasia Derenzo, 20, of Ridge, police said.
Mattituck Fire Department and Cutchogue Fire Department Rescue responded and all injured parties were transported via fire vehicle to Peconic Bay Medical Center, police said.
No charges were filed in the accident, police said.
