A Greenport teen was cuffed last night after he refused to leave the 7-Eleven in Southold, got into a fight with an officer, and dislocated the officer’s finger, police said.
According to Southold Town police, a call came in about youths refusing to leave the location last night at 9:29 p.m. While attempting to interview Eric Tonyes, 17, about trespassing, he began to leave the scene and refused to be interviewed, police said. Tonyes fought with an officer, who suffered a dislocated finger, police said. He was also found to have marijuana, police said.
Tonyes was arrested and charged with assault in the second degree, a felony, as well as trespass, unlawful possession of marijuana, and obstructing governmental justice, police said. He was taken to Southold Town police headquarters and held for arraignment, police said.
