It’s the perfect summer night to enjoy the best of what Love Lane has to offer, as businesses present “First Friday on Love Lane” tonight from 6 to 9 p.m.
Guests are invited to “stroll, taste, sip” as they enjoy the event, a collaboration between all the businesses on Love Lane and local North Fork purveyors.
Love Lane merchants are staying open until 9 p.m. for First Fridays this summer and possibly into the fall, with merchants pairing up with local farmers to present $3 bites and $5 sips. Free live music will be presented by John Sparling and Mark Anderson.
Participants include the Village Cheese Shop, Roanoke Vineyards, Love Lane Kitchen, Bauer’s, Lombardi’s Love Lane Market, Altman’s Needle & Fiber Arts, Love Lane Sweet Shop, Mattituck Florist, Browders Birds, Oysterponds Shellfish, Sang Lee Farm, cHarissa, East End Mushroom, Mar-Gene Farms, and Backyard Brine Pickle Co.
Tonight, Pike Street businesses will also stay open until 9 p.m., with Love Lane closed off to traffic.
The idea for First Fridays on Love Lane came from Kate Altman, owner of Altman’s Needle & Fiber Arts. When she lived in Catskill, NY, Altman said First Fridays were a “fun, local event that grew and grew” every year, serving as a community meeting place and a highlight of the month for many.
