The cars came in a rainbow of colors and conjured up a lifetime of memories for the many who participated and attended the Mattituck Fire Department’s 2nd Annual Car Show at Veterans Park today.
Car owners shared conversation, coffee and donuts as they gathered this morning under cloudy skies. But soon the sun was shining and the steady stream of classic cars brought one and all on a blast to the past.
Some couples said the cars had been with them for decades, a symbol of their love. Others said their trucks were a legacy they were passing on to children and grandchildren.
Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Suffolk County Volunteer Firefighters Burn Center Fund, according to event chairman Ted Griffin.
