Candidates for the Southold Town supervisor’s seat in the November election will have a chance to debate issues concerning the environment tonight.

The event takes place tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Cutchogue, located at 2050 Depot Lane.

The educational forum will be the first time incumbent Southold Town Supervisor Scott Russell will face off with challenger Damon Rallis; the event is hosted by the New York League of Conservation Voters, with the help of the North Fork Environmental Council and a coalition of environmental and civic groups.

According to organizers, each candidate will address the same set of questions posed by the Southold environmental coalition and then take questions from the audience, as time permits. Each candidate will address the questions without the other present in order to help the audience clearly understand each’s position on the same issues with interruption or distraction, organizers said.
