Boys Soccer: Southold keeps rolling, upends Port Jefferson, 6-1

It’s been a season of sheer dominance for the Southold First Settlers. They’ve been gathering wins all season and Wednesday afternoon, they added another one to their tally.

The Settlers, playing on their home field, defeated Port Jefferson without much effort, 6-1.  The win improved their record to 8-0 in League VIII and 10-2-1 overall.

Pete Fouchet has been leading the charge for Southold, scoring goals whenever given the opportunity. He knocked in two more in the game to put him at a team-high 17 goals this season. The 17 goals places him second on Long Island, behind Southampton’s Jesse Scanlon who leads all with 24 goals.

It doesn’t look like there’s going to be any team that will be able to stop Southold this year. Up next is Pierson/Bridgehampton. The Settlers will play there for an away game next Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
