Southold Town, in the midst of updating the comprehensive plan, will be weighing the future of land use in Mattituck tonight.
The planning board is seeking input for the land use chapter of the town’s comprehensive plan. To that end, a meeting has been organized by the planning board for Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the Southold Town Human Resources Center in Mattituck, with an eye toward hearing what residents have to say.
Mattituck and Laurel residents are invited to hear the town’s vision of what they’d like to see in the hamlet moving forward — and to lend their voices to the dialogue.
Questions centering on land use issues include:
- What do you think about Mattituck and Laurel having more apartments?
- What do you think about Mattituck and Laurel having more business/retail space?
- What do you think about the areas that are zoned light industrial in Mattituck? How should they be utilized?
The stop is one of the many that the planning board has organized in each hamlet in Southold Town recently.
