Local realtors gave back in a big way this week to those who are struggling to make ends meet in Southold Town.

The North Fork chapter of the Long Island Board of Realtors, or LIBOR, held their 3rd annual Fall Fundraiser at The Wharf House at Founders Landing on September 23, with all proceeds to benefit Community Action of Southold Town.

Guests opened their hearts in a outpouring of generosity and caring: To that end, on Friday, LIBOR’s board of directors presented Linda Ruland, executive director of CAST, with a check for $3,500.

The presentation took place during LIBOR’s membership meeting, held yesterday at the Hellenic Snack Bar & Restaurant in East Marion.

The North Fork Chapter of LIBOR is made up of 215 realtors from Riverhead through Orient Point. Past beneficiaries of the fundraising effort have included Maureen’s Haven and Habitat for Humanity for a house being built in Orient, said chapter president Mary Ellen Ellwood.
