Greenport’s homecoming bonfire moved to tonight

For those hoping to show their school spirit by attending the Greenport Union Free School District’s homecoming bonfire and parade, that date has been changed from Friday until tonight.

“Due to a conflict, the homecoming bonfire that was schedule to take place before the homecoming game on Friday evening has been moved to Thursday evening at 6:15 p.m. All fall varsity teams will be announced. Come on out and show your Porter pride,” an announcement on the district’s Facebook page read.

The homecoming parade kicks off tomorrow, Friday, at 5:15 p.m., beginning at IGA and heading to First Street and then to Front Street to the school.

The homecoming game takes place on Friday night at 7 p.m., when the Porters will face off against the Port Jefferson Royals.
