Bright blue skies and a burst of fall foliage greeted the hundreds of children in both Southold and Greenport who turned out in costume this morning for two fun-filled Halloween parades.
First, children gathered at the carousel in Greenport for a free ride before marching in a parade to the Floyd Memorial Library, where they enjoyed pumpkins, goodie bags and treats. The event was hosted by the Greenport PTA, the Village of Greenport, and the Floyd Memorial Library.
Next, a parade organized by the Southold PTA kicked off at the Southold Firehouse on Main Road before wending its way back to the elementary school.
Fun was had by all, from the tiniest infants celebrating their first Halloween, to parents beaming with pride as their precious children marched in costumes, making memories.
