The Harlem Wizards, known for their “high-flying, interactive” show, one that delights audiences of all ages, will bring their talent to the basketball court in Greenport tonight.
The Harlem Wizards, now in their 54th season, will take on a team comprised of teachers and principals from Greenport schools.
The Harlem Wizards, founded in 1962, are known for their basketball trickery and dazzling display of entertaining showmanship, including passing, dunking, dribbling and shooting, with plenty of audience participation.
The fundraiser will take place in the Greenport large gym from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.; doors open at 6 p.m. Kids who purchase a Wizards jersey or wear one from a previous year will be introduced as a Wiz Kid by the master of ceremonies and can warm up with the Wizards on the court 30 minutes prior to the game.
General admission tickets cost $10 in advance and $12 at the door for students, and $12 in advance and $15 at the door for adults.
Reserved seats, which cost $25, include an up-close seat and a free color team poster.
Courtside Plus seats, which cost $35, include reserved seating, an exclusive 10-minute meet-and-greet with two to three Wizards, a free team poster and a $15 discount on Wizards replica jerseys. These tickets are very limited; first come, first served.
Food, drinks, and Wizards souvenirs will also be sold at the fundraiser for Greenport students.
A free autograph session after the game will also be held. The event is not drop-off; students in grades K to 6 must be accompanied by an adult.
