A two-car crash on Route 48 at Moore’s Lane North at about 5:30 Wednesday evening had the road closed in both directions for just over an hour.

The drivers of both vehicles were taken to Eastern Long Island Hospital for injuries not believed to be life-threatening, according to emergency responders.

Greenport Fire and Rescue responded to extricate one driver and transport the injured victims to the hospital.

Earlier in the day yesterday another accident blocked the westbound lanes of Route 48 east of Cox Lane. Today at about 11:30 a.m., another crash on eastbound Route 48 at Depot Lane closed the eastbound lanes.
