Patricia “Trish” Ann Vories of Shirley died on December 17 after a long battle with heart disease. She was 61 years old.
Born on June 21, 1954, she was the daughter of Earline Hepburn. After graduating from Greenport High School, she moved to New York City where she met and married Will Roger Vories in 1979. She attended Medgar Evers College and went on to enroll in Wilfred Beauty Academy where she received a license in cosmetology. Patricia was later on employed by Estee Lauder as a line coordinator where she worked until her retirement.
Patricia was loving, caring, determined, and just a go-getter at heart. She was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother and sister. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace. She will be greatly missed, her family says.
She was predeceased by her sister, Darlene, and is survived by her mother, Earline Hepburn; children, Celeste Vories of Mastic, Antionette Brown of Coram, Natasha Brown of Bayport, Tyeisha Brown of Huntington, Alethia Brown of Shirley, and Justin and Tramell Shelby of Centereach; sisters Sarah Hill, Geraldine Carter, Sabrina Crenshaw, Christine and Mary Shelby; brothers Hanson and James Postwaite, Larry Shelby, Nathaniel Beckwith, Charles Shelby, grandchildren Lauryn Vories, Zaria Alston, Zyaire Jenkins, Haiden Brown, Roy Whitfield Jr. III and Maki Haynes, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Homegoing services were held on Monday, December 28th at Clinton Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church in Greenport. Interment was in Calverton National Cemetery. Reverend Nathaniel Heyward Sr. officiated.
DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold assisted the family.
