Blue skies, sunshine and pleasant temperatures made for perfect weather to celebrate everything Irish today — and hundreds of people responded by turning out to watch the 12th Annual Cutchogue St. Patrick’s Day Parade make its way through town.
Dozens of groups paraded along Main Road this afternoon — pipe and drum corps, fire departments and their marching bands, dancers, and all manner of community groups and local businesses lined up for the event, which stepped off on Main Road and Cox Lane and continued to the Village Green.
Grand Marshal Monsignor Joseph Staudt, Rep. Lee Zeldin, Assemblyman Anthony Palumbo, County Legislator Al Krupski, Southold council members Jill Doherty and James Dinizio, Trustee Nick Krupski, and Assessor Rich Caggiano joined parade organizer and emcee Joe Corso on the reviewing stand opposite New Suffolk Road.
Cutchogue Fire Department, which co-sponsors the parade with North Fork Chamber of Commerce, hosted an after-party at the firehouse, offering free hot dogs to the community.
