A Greenport man and Flanders woman are facing drug charges after a traffic stop by a Southampton Town Police Community Response Unit Tuesday night.
After pulling over a vehicle for a missing license plate at about 6:45 p.m., officers observed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle, according to a police press release issued last night.
Police said the rear seat passenger, Aubrey Fauvell-Thomas, 35, of Flanders, was found to be in possession of 49 glassine envelopes containing heroin, 7.8 grams of powder cocaine, 47 grams of crack cocaine and a quantity of suboxone, a digitial scale, and U.S. Currency.
Police said the front seat passenger, Terrence Smith, 35, of Greenport, was found to be in possession of heroin, concentrated cannibis, prescription narcotics, packaging materials commonly used for the sale of narcotics, and a large quantity of U.S. currency.
The driver, Scott Wilcox, 47, of Hampton Bays, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation third Degree, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and a missing license plate, police said. Wilcox was also found to have a bench warrant from Southampton Town Justice Court, police said.
- According to the press release, Aubrey Fauvell Thomas was charged with:
- criminal possession of a controlled substance, third degree, intent to sell, a felony
- criminal possession of a controlled substance/narcotic, a felony
- criminal possession of a controlled substance, fifth degree, a felony
- criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh degree, a misdemeanor (two counts)
- criminal use of drug paraphernalia, second degree, a misdemeanor
- possession of a controlled substance in a non-original container, a violation
Police said Terrence Smith was charged with:
- criminal possession of a controlled substance, third degree, intent to sell, a felony
- criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh degree, a misdemeanor (four counts)
- criminal use of drug paraphernalia, second degree, a misdemeanor
- possession of a controlled substance in a non original container, a violation (two counts)
- unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation
All three subjects were held overnight for arraignment in Southampton Town Justice Court yesterday.
