A power outage is scheduled for later this afternoon in Greenport Village due to a traffic accident this morning, according to village officials..
A utility pole needed to be replaced following a motor vehicle accident earlier today, and the power outage is required to transfer electric facilities to the new utility pole.
The following areas will be affected by the outage for about an hour this afternoon:
- Central Avenue
- Carpenter Street
- Ludlum Place
- Streling Avenue
- A portion of Main Street
