A larger-than-expected crowd turned out today for Greenport’s First Annual Easter Bunny Egg Roll in Mitchell Park today.
The event, hosted by the Greenport Business Improvement District and sponsored by more than two dozen village shops, restaurants and cafes, drew families to the park to watch little ones race for plastic eggs filled with goodies.
The event was organized by a committee of about seven people, said Penny Schwartz, whose son own’s Noah’s Restaurant.
A big blue duck — courtesy of Blue Duck Bakery, of course — joined Greenport’s seafaring Easter Bunny on the lawn of Mitchell Park to pose with children and, sometimes parents too.
After all the eggs were collected, the kids were treated to a free ride on the carousel.
