East End Arts has issued an open call for street painting artists to participate in the 20th annual Community Mosaic Street Painting Festival which takes place the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend in downtown Riverhead. This year’s event is set for May 29 with a rain date of May 30.
Street painting artists (14 years of age or older) who register in advance are assigned a sponsored square. There are a limited number of sponsored squares, which are assigned on a first come, first serve basis.
There is no fee for street painting artists who register in advance. Chalk and blending materials are provided.
This free event draws 5,000 local residents and tourists. Festival fun for the family includes street painting, live music, theater, drumming, dance, art demonstrations, performances, a fine arts & crafts fair, and so much more.
