Betty Ann ‘Doozie’ Smith of Flanders died at her sister’s home in Riverhead on April 18, 2016. She was 66 years old.
She was born on January 5, 1950 in Greenport to William and Anne Smith.
She graduated from Riverhead High School in 1968 and was a food service worker for the Riverhead School District.
In her spare time she enjoyed music and playing bingo and cards. She was very dedicated to her family.
Predeceased by her parents and her daughter Tameka, she is survived by her son DeWayne of Riverhead, her daughters Vonda Smith-Trent of Riverhead and Tammy of Florida, her sisters Mary Robinson of Riverhead, Shirley Lamar of New Jersey, Carol Williams of Riverhead, Lenora R. Smith of Selden, Marlene Smith-Tolbert of Yonkers, Thelma of Patchogue, Joy of East Patchogue, Dora Ann of Patchogue and Sharon of Patchogue, her stepmother Ann Greene-Smith of East Patchogue and by three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors Saturday, April 23 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Galilee Church of God in Christ, 87 Old Quogue Road, Riverhead.
A funeral service will be held at the church at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23.
