Greenport’s first-ever a cappella festival drew hundreds to Mitchell Park Saturday afternoon for a few hours of live music performed by student groups.

The festival featured singers from local high schools as well as a special performance by headlining group the Princeton Nassoons, an award-winning all-male ensemble from Princeton University.

Ensembles from Plainview, Northport, Riverhead and Greenport high schools each performed several arrangements of songs in Mitchell Park’s outdoor amphitheater.

The groups performed  pop, oldies, standards and traditional music during the free concert, which was organized and emceed by Greenport Village Trustee Douglas Roberts.
