Photos: Community turns out for Orient Fire Department’s fifth annual pig roast

It was hog heaven in Orient yesterday. Well, maybe not so much for the hogs. But residents who turned out for the Orient Fire Department’s pig roast had a really fine time chowing down on roasted pork, sweet corn, potato salad, fresh tomatoes, watermelon and more.  Summer Breeze entertained guests with live music.

About 450 people attended the event, the fifth annual  summertime fundraiser, said Lou Yoh, who organized the event with Rich Milligan.

“We thought it would make a good alternative to the steak nights other departments have,” Yoh said.
