It was an all-you-can-eat seafood feast yesterday at Southold Fire Department headquarters where volunteers served up clams, shrimp and mussels, along with a raw bar and — for the land-lubbers — hamburgers and hot dogs.
“Studio G” of Coram provided live music for the party under the stars on the lawn outside the Main Road headquarters. The vollies opening clams for the raw bar got into their groove. Watch video:
The event was something new for Southold Fire Department, said Chief Peggy Killian. “We wanted to try something different.” she said. The department pre-sold 250 tickets and there were plenty of walk-ins last night.
Organizers put together a large chinese auction, featuring dozens of items and services donated by local businesses and professionals.
