Christopher North, a Greenport Class of 2013 Greenport, was elected student trustee at Suffolk County Community College for the upcoming academic year.
North was sworn in at a board of trustees meeting last Thursday. He was elected to the position in a general election during the spring semester.
He is now one of 10 members of the Suffolk County Community College board of trustees and the Suffolk County Community College Association board of directors.
Trustees are charged with the overall responsibility of governing the college through policy development, long-range planning and fiscal management.
