(Updated-Sept. 5) Southold Town Police have identified the drivers in the head-on collision yesterday morning on Main Bayview Road.
Police said Colin J, Ryan, 31, of Massapequa, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Antigone Amengual, 66, of Southold, was extricated from her vehicle and treated at the scene by Southold Fire Department and then airlifted by Suffolk County Police Aviation to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she is in critical condition, according to a hospital spokesperson.
The cause of the accident, which took place Saturday at 11:25 a.m., is under investigation by the Southold Police Detective Division.
