About one in eight women will develop invasive breast cancer sometime during her lifetime, according to breastcancer.org. That’s a pretty scary statistic.
Peconic Bay Medical Center is hosting a free “Breast Cancer Awareness Lunch and Learn” on Oct. 5 from noon to 1 p.m. Guests at the luncheon will learn about early detection and prevention, warning signs and risk factors, the importance of mammography and breast health information.
The luncheon is free. To register for it, call 631-548-6827.
