McGann-Mercy and Southold played to a 2-2 tie yesterday after regulation and two overtime periods at McGann-Mercy High School.

The Monarchs controlled the flow of play from the start of the game, with Southold playing catch-up most of the time.

Katherine Jarvis scored with an incredible header off the corner kick for Southold. McGann-Mercy answered back with a redirect by Abby Coniglio to make it 1-1 after the first half. The second half played out as the Clippers scored again on a close in shot by Jill Golden to make it 2-1. McGann-Mercy wasn’t about to roll over as they pounded Southold goalkeeper Hayley Brigham, who turned in an outstanding performance. The Monarchs finally broke through and scored on a shot by Abby Coniglio from about 20 yards out. The game ended after two overtime periods, but still ended in a 2-2 draw.
