Cutchogue’s Bridge Lane will be closed during last two weekends in October

The wooden bridge that crosses over the Long Island Rail Road tracks on Bridge Lane will be renovated later this month, closing the road to traffic for two weekends.

Bridge Lane in Cutchogue will be closed on Friday, Oct. 21 and Saturday, Oct. 22 as well as Friday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29 according to Salvatore Arena, a MTA spokesperson.

“They’ll be working on half the bridge the first two days, and the other half the second weekend,” Arena said.

The single-lane, timber bridge will be receiving new guard rails, fencing, curbing and deck boards.

There will be no impact on train service, Arena said.
