Are you registered to vote? Here’s how you can make sure and here’s how to register online — Deadline: Friday, Oct. 14

The deadline to register to vote in this November’s elections is approaching this week on Oct. 14. To check if you are registered to vote and that your information is up-to-date, click here.

Voter registration can be done in person, by mail or online.

Registrants must fill out a voting registration form, available in both English and Spanish on New York State’s Board of Election’s website  or at the Suffolk County Board of Elections at 700 Yaphank Avenue in Yaphank.

Voter registration forms can be brought to the address above or mailed to Suffolk County Board of Elections at P.O. Box 700, Yaphank, 11980.

Voters can also register to vote and update their information online at the Department of Motor Vehicle’s website.

Also fast-approaching are deadlines surrounding absentee ballots, which must be applied for in advance.

To apply to vote absentee by mail, an application must be postmarked by Nov. 1. Voters can also apply to vote absentee in person at the Suffolk County Board of Elections by Nov. 7.

All absentee ballots being submitted by mail must be postmarked Nov. 7 Absentee ballots submitted in person must be delivered to the local board of elections by Nov. 8. The ballot must be received by the local board of elections by no later than Nov. 15.
