Run for the Ridley, 5k to support Riverhead Foundation for marine life, will be held October 22

Help the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation save the endangered sea turtles by taking part in the annual Run for the Ridley 5K race on October 22.

The race is open to runners and joggers, and even dogs, of all ages.

This race is a fun and healthy way to help support the many programs of the foundation, including the rescue and rehabilitation of sea turtles.

The run starts on Main Street in Riverhead, goes through a quiet residential neighborhood and finishes on McDermott Ave. The race is timed by Island Timing. USA Track & Field Certified.

The check-in point is the easternmost end of the municipal parking lot adjacent to Peconic River from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Ample parking is available. Registration is $20 if postmarked by October 15. Late registration is $25, and race day registration is $30. First 300 registrants get a race T-shirt.

Awards will go to the top three male and female overall, plus, top three male and female in the following categories: 9-under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & over.

$25.00 Riverhead Foundation water bottle

$100.00 RF water bottle plus a stuffed turtle

$150.00 RF water bottle, stuffed turtle, and an animal adoption

$250.00 All the above plus a seal cruise gift certificate for 2
